At the age of six, living in Chicago, Illinois, I saw Paris and San Francisco for the first time between the pages of my World Book Encyclopedias. That began my love affair with books and magazines. It also led me to declare that when I grew up I would live in San Francisco and Paris. While most of us never get to achieve our childhood dreams, I have been able to do so. I've lived in San Francisco since 1984 and got my first apartment in Paris in 2001. For nearly 18 years I have traveled between my two favorite cities on earth, while I enjoy a life of writing, coaching, and speaking. Life for me is a banquet and I am savoring every moment!

What the world is going through right now is historic. We are on lockdown for our own safety but, let's be real it almost feels like a prison. I say almost because some of us are lucky to have gardens we have not been enjoying or sitting rooms we have not really sat to relax in. We have huge soaker tubs for the yummy bubble bath we were planning on taking with a glass of wine and a good book.
If you are blessed to be among the unaffected, and your family and friends have escaped the dreaded virus, then you are lucky enough to be able to enjoy the pleasures of your home.
Reading a good book is a great way to manage stress. To escape the harness of now. To give yourself a moment to "be somewhere else".
More to come....
